Cananga odorata

Malay name: Kenanga, Ilang ilang
Other Names: odoratum Canangium, ylang-ylang oil.

Information

This plant can grow and reach a height of 30-35m. Stem gray smoke. These leaves are green and are arranged alternately and the oval shape measuring 7-23 cm long and 4-10 cm broad. This plant has greenish yellow flowers are fragrant and have 6 petals.

Local use

Flowers are used to treat asthma and itching of the skin, while the seeds are used to treat stomach aches.

This plant is usually grown as an ornamental tree and is used in the manufacture of cosmetics.
