Nerium oleander

Introduction

Family: Apocynaceae
Malay name: Anis, Pedendang
Other names: Rose-bay, Nerium indicum, Nerium odorum, Oleander, Laurier rose.
Information

Shrub vegetation types are usually grown as an ornamental tree. It can reach a height of 3-7 meters and has a hard and sharp leaves as wide as 2 cm. These leaves are arranged in multiples of three. Interest groups are white or gray, red to purple or orange. The shape is nuts.

Local use

Used as rat poison and insecticide. He also reported being used in traditional treatments for treating abdominal pain, fever, malaria, leprosy, venereal diseases, and also drop the item. It has also been in use as a worm medicine.

Nerioside, Kanerocin, Adynerin and Neviin         
Other Ingredients: Adynerin, Adyregenin, Rosagenin, hydrocyanic acid

Effects of Poisoning

A leaf can be fatal if ingested.

Symptoms of poisoning occur after a few hours ingested, such as the nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, low blood pressure, dizziness, convulsions, rapid heart rate, sweating, heart attack (cardiac arrest) and the next point can lead to death.
