Allamanda cathartica

Introduction

Family: Apocynaceae
Malay Name: Bell Flower, Root Chempaka Forest, Flower Yellow Root
Other Names: Common Allamanda, Yellow Allamanda, Lani-Alii, Heavenly Chief, Golden Trumpet.
Information

These shrubs can climb. It has a narrow oval leaves measuring 8-15 cm long and 4-5 cm wide. He also arranged between 3-5 swirling leaves. This plant flowers are yellow and shaped like a bell or flue. It is odorless and has 5 pieces of petals. This tree is shaped like a capsule.

Poisoned

Toxic Part: Entire plant, especially fruit and rubber.
Active Ingredients: Allamandin, isoplumericin and plumericin                                           

Effects of Poisoning

This plant can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme thirst, dryness in the mouth, drowsiness, fatigue and disorientation. It is also capable of causing inflammation of the skin.
